Am Fuße von Schottlands höchstem Berg wird offiziell seit 1825 Ben Nevis Single Malt gebrannt. Jetzt bringt die Destillerie einen beliebten Klassiker zurück. Der Traditional Peated Malt wurde erstmals 2011 als limitierte Edition abgefüllt. Er baut anders als andere Whiskys von Ben Nevis auf Torfmalz – und ehrt damit die Zeiten, in denen Torf noch zur Beheizung der Darre genutzt wurde.
Tasting Notes
Nose: First a burst of salty sea air and peat smoke. Then the enticing aroma of honey and wildflowers.
Taste: An initial delicate smokiness gives way to the lingering smoothness and light sweetness crème caramel and ginger cake.
